What we believe

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, in Jesus Christ his Son Our Saviour and Lord, and in the Holy Spirit, our guide to eternal life.

We believe that the Bible is a revelation from God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, profitable for instruction in righteousness and a sure guide to eternal life.

We believe that faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried and rose again on the third day, is the way of forgiveness and holy living – and that whoever believes in their heart and confesses Him as Lord shall be saved.

We believe that the church is a fellowship of believers who observe His ordinances and walk together in faith and service of the Gospel, seeking mutual edification and bringing in the Kingdom of God in the world.

We believe that the ordinance of Baptism is by the immersion of a believer upon confession of faith and is a symbol of surrender to Jesus as Saviour and Lord, and of new life in Him and that the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper is a service to perpetuate the memory of His death and to show further the truths of regeneration through His sacrifice and our mystical union with Him through faith and love.

We believe in the priority of prayer both in personal life and together as a fellowship. Prayer meetings are a regular activity of our fellowship and members are expected to participate.

We are linked with the Baptist Union of Scotland. This is not a governing body, but a facilitator to the wider fellowship of Baptist Churches throughout Scotland.

let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
