Children & Youth
Children and young people are such an important part of Buckie Baptist Church!
Sundays
We love having children and young people along on Sundays! We all meet together in church at 11am and shortly afterwards children and teens can head out to the different groups we run for pre-school, primary school and secondary school ages alongside this main Sunday morning service.
Creche for pre-school age runs in the back hall which is attached to the main church building and is easily accessible for parents/carers throughout the service if need be. Little ones are warmly welcomed with a snack, story time, memory verses and craft, as well as some time to play and get to know each other.
Junior Church for primary school age is held in the church hall across the road from the main church building which allows plenty space to play games as well as learn about Jesus and God’s plan of salvation from the Bible. There’s always snacks, a variety of activities and a craft each week.
GRID is our Sunday group for secondary school age which runs in term time. We meet in the GRID room which is in the church hall across the road from the main church building. Young people have the opportunity to dig into the Bible and discover how it applies to everyday life with a variety of activities, YouTube videos and songs. We pray, chat about God, build friendships and eat food!
All Sunday groups are supervised and all leaders are PVG checked.
Youth Work
Carole, our Youth Worker, has been on staff at Buckie Baptist Church since 2017. She leads the youth work at church which includes Sunday GRID group, Youth Club on Tuesdays, and various activities for young people such as SU camps, Youth Alpha, youth events and trips.
Youth Club is every Tuesday 7pm – 8.15pm in term time. We meet in either the church hall or church itself and begin with food (snack) and catchups! We spend some time around the table with theme based activities and chats about life, God, and the Bible. There’s quizzes, Bible verses, crafts and music then active games to finish what’s usually an awesome evening of fun! We have regular things happening such as trips to the beach, bowling and movie nights. (Youth Club is for P7 – S6)
